Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Yukon. I am a sweet 3 year old boy that is looking for a special family to call my own. The nice volunteers with Friends of Retrievers saved me from euthanasia. I am well behaved and have a wonderful personality. I walk well on leash and am just a nice dog to be around. I only weigh 45 lbs right now and need to put on some weight. I have had all of my shots and have been neutered... but the doctor says that I have heartworms. Heartworms are caused by mosquitos and dogs like me can get them if their owners do not keep them on a monthly heartworm preventative. The rescue is paying for my heartworm treatment, so whoever adopts me will not have to worry about the expence. It will take me a few months to get rid of the heartworms. They are not contageous to animals or to humans, so no worries. The rescue is also trying to collect donations for my treatment...so even if you cant adopt me, you can still help me. The paypal address to donate is forrescuetn@gmail.com
The family that adopts me will be very lucky and the envy of many.
Please help me feel better and find a new famil\y to take care of me. Email the rescue for an application today.
UPDATE: Yukon is doing very well with his treatment. He is feeling much better..playing with toys and getting spunky. He will be finished with his initial treatment on Sept 7th.
