My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note: This cat is NOT located at Ce-Ce & Friends Humane Society. He is being listed as a courtesy. If you would like to learn more about Zak, please call 617-875-5205.

"Hi everyone. My name is Zak. I was trapped in a cat colony and brought to the vet. I am 100% vetted, neutered, have all my shots, and am de-wormed. I am handsome and SOOOO LOVING! My only health issue is that I am FIV+ - but that doesn't have to be a big issue!

To read more about FIV, please go here:

I am a sweetie pie and so cute with my long silver fur. I look a little funny in my photo because I had to have some fur on my hind legs shaved, since I was very matted. I have definitely proved that I am NOT a feral (wild) kitty - I love people and was probably an owned cat at one time, then thrown out like garbage to fend for myself. That's how I got in this condition...from the tough life on the streets, searching for food and shelter.

I am a good, good boy. I am so grateful for any attention or affection, and will purr and purr when you pet me. I like to lie on the bed and rub against your legs. I would like a home of my own to live out the rest of my life.

And yes, FIV+ cats can live long, full lives just like other cats with good care! I also adore other kitties and I would be a great buddy for another FIV+ cat, or a gentle FIV-negative cat (remember, FIV can ONLY be transmitted through very serious, deep bite wounds...not love nips, sharing food or water dishes, grooming, or anything else. And since I only have a couple of teeth, I'm not likely to bite anyone!)

PLEASE call 617-875-5205 to adopt me. I cannot stay where I am for too much longer and I do not want to be returned to the streets. Serious inquiries only, please, as I cannot be returned."
