My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How cute is Sage? And he is oh so sweet! Given all that Sage has gone through you would think that he wouldn't be such a great dog. You see Sage was found wondering a local street by a nice lady. Sage appeared to be trying to get into the yard of a house. She knocked on the door of the home to tell the owners that their dog was out. The home owners said he wasn't their dog. So the good samaritan took Sage to the vet to have him scanned for a micro chip. One was found but it was to a puppy mill and the number was disconnected. Sage was covered in golf ball sized mats so this kind lady paid to have him shaved. She found him a new home, bought him all his supplies and then the new owners changed their mind the next day. :( Unfortunately our good samaritan was not able to keep him at her apartment and sadly had no other options. She took him to the pound and begged them not to kill him. After six days no one adopted him and was placed on the kill list. RESCUE had no room for Sage but committed to taking him anyway. Late night phone calls to our amazing RESCUE volunteers and thankfully a foster home was secured!

Sage was cleaned up again in foster care, neutered and given a dental. He has recovered from all of this and is such a joy to all that meet this handsome boy. Sage is a active guy who LOVES to go on walks and when it's cooler would make an excellent hiking companion. He's found that the dog park is a great place to play with doggie friends, is learning what toys are all about and he has already discovered the wonders of a comfy sofa!

Sage would like a family of his own. A family that will love him for all the days of his life. A home with daily walks, weekend hikes, dog park activities and of course plenty of daily snuggle time. If that's your home, please fill out an application for our sweet boy today!
