My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bambi is a sweet six pound Chihuahua who is around two to four years old. She was found as a stray in eastern MA and was nervous at the animal control facility so we brought her into our rescue to relax in a foster hom. She is so happy to have a warm bed but now she needs her forever family.

Bambi is a very playful girl who loves to cuddle with her person. Her favorite spot to relax and nap is on your lap. When she wants to play though she is energetic and silly - she loves to play chase and to play with small toys. Her foster family is constantly entertained with her funny antics. When she plays she often uses her mouth - and though she is very gentle, it is best that she go to a home with no young children for this reason. Ideally, she will find a quiet home with not a lot of different people coming and going where she can be the only dog or have another mellow dog companion.

Bambi loves to go on walks outside and she is quite active in the house, always prancing around checking things out. She is a good watchdog and she will let you know when someone is at the door or making noise outside. Bambi gets along fine with the cats in her foster home and though she can be fine with the other dogs in her foster home she is aloof with them and does not prefer their company. She would do best in a home without another dog or with one who is very mellow. Bambi is fine being picked up and has no problem greeting strangers if they let her do it at her pace but she does have some typical Chihuahua traits and she needs a Chi-savvy person who appreciates the breed. Once Bambi bonds with you it is hard not to adore her. She is a sweet, fun dog.

Bambi does have dry eyes and needs eye drops twice times a day. She is good about getting the drops and it only takes a minute to do. She also needs to be fed a high-quality kibble or her ears get flaky - she currently alternates between eating Artemis and Taste of the Wild.

If you are interested in meeting Bambi, please fill out an application on our website, www.brokentailrescue.org. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. Bambi is being fostered in Worcester.
