Here's what the humans have to say about me:
These pictures stink. They do not show how handsome Niko really is. I will try to get better pictures.
Niko was found in a "dump box" outside of a high kill shelter in MD. A dump box is a big dumpster lokking box where people toss unwanted pets. Young dogs are mixed with old, healthy with sick, friendly with aggresive. A dog may not survise the dump box depending on what kind of dog is in there when they get dumped.
Anyway, Niko was dumped in the box and survived. He was brought to the shelter where understandably he was scared to death. Even though he was petrified, he NEVER showed signs of aggression.
His time ran out at the shelter and he was going to be killed. His only crime, having STUPID people in his life.
I rescued Niko the day he was to be killed. He went to a foster kennel in VA where he has been since May. He gets along well with the people at the shelter and his new doggie friend is a malamute.
Niko is becoming depressed at the kennel because he longs for a family and home of his own.
Please save this guy, open your heart and home to a very deserving guy.
Niko is a neutered APBT, about 5 years old. He weighs a chunky 60+lbs. Niko appears to be house trained and is crate trained. If you are interested in Niko, please contact us at rookiesrescue@yahoo.com
