Gerry's Story...
What’s orange and white and sweet all over? No, not a Creamsicle. It’s me, Gerry. I sport a round kitten-like face, although I’m very much an adult cat. Don’t you just want to squeeze my round cheeky cheeks! Those roly-poly cheeks are often what happens when a cat gets neutered later in life, as I just recently have. I’m known at Friends of Homeless Animals for my cuddliness, my outspoken nature, and my sweet disposition. I’m very good at supervising the volunteers and staff, letting them know when my bowl is full enough for my liking…and telling them quite clearly when to stop with all of the cleaning and come on over to snuggle me, already! If you’re looking for a sweet adult cat, then you’ve found him. Until we snuggle next!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gerry, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
