My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rex! Rex is a gorgeous, active 2 year old male. He was pulled from a high kill shelter when his time was up, and is getting a new lease on life.

Unfortunately, Rex tested positive for heartworm disease, but he has already begun treatment and will be good as new in no time! He is utd on routine vaccinations and flea/tick prevention, and has been microchipped and neutered. We are working on housetraining and house manners.

Rex is wonderful with people, male and female; young and old. He is also good with female dogs, but will need a home without other males as he is not good with them. He also has a very high prey drive, so cats and smaller dogs are out of the question for him

We'll post more about Rex as he settles in at his foster home and we get to know him better.

Please Click Here to fill out an application. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until this has been completed and received.

Rex must go to an indoor home where he will be an important part of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Our adoption fee is $250.

Note: Mid-South Shepherd Rescue is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter location. Our dogs are kept in foster homes as part of a family, to help prepare them for transition into their forever homes. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please contact us by clicking on the email address to your right. We will be glad to make arrangements for a meeting.
