Diamond's Story...

WATCH ME PLAY!!
ADOPTED OCTOBER 2010

Diamond is barely 1 year old and she has already had a tough start to her life. She was adopted previously by owners who did not understand the need of a dog for a pack leader. When she was returned to the shelter she was severely emaciated so it leads us to wonder if the poor girl was starved as a form of discipline. Since Diamond has come to our rescue group, she has gained nearly 12 pounds and is flourishing. Still, she is a petite gal, weighing only 40 pounds. She is a wonderful eater and we do believe she will fill out some more with proper nutrition and appropriate care. She has a high gloss coat and her eyes shine like the sun.

Diamond is doing wonderfully in her foster home. She is very alert and inquisitive. She knows how to sit, stay, and give her paw. She loves rubber chew toys and balls. She is doing really well on her leash and is very social when meeting people and dogs on her walk. Diamond has a high energy level true to many young dogs and enjoys going for runs. Her new owner should be someone who is active and able to provide her with the activity she needs to allow her to be a tired and happy gal!

Diamond is a true sweetheart of a dog who will continue to unfold in her new home. Somewhere awaits her “heart person” who will see the brave little dog that faces every day with growing spirit and anticipation of what a wonderful future brings. She needs someone who will show her love and train her through positive reinforcement and help her feel safe. This is a true Diamond in the rough – do you have what it takes to make her *SPARKLE?*

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diamond, a Hartford Shiba Inu/Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Alaskan Malamute for sale in Hartford, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
