Sam's Story...
Sam is an eleven year old charmer! He came to us when his owner was hit with the double whammy of cancer and divorce, and she could no longer care for him. Sam is about 45 pounds and is still very active. He likes kids, but, because of his age, an older child would probably be best for him. Sam is what we call a "velcro-dog" -- he loves to be around people all the time. He loves to chew on bones and has a ball he carries with him everywhere -- unlike a puppy though, that's all he chews on. He also doesn't try to escape or dig. Sam definitely prefers the indoor life. Because of his age, Sam's adoption fee is negotiable. Please help us find a loving forever home for this sweet little gentleman!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Jeffersonville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Jeffersonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Jeffersonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jeffersonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jeffersonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jeffersonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
