Liu's Story...
Liu was found with her littermate Kitty stray and starving. They were so skinny and weak when they first came into rescue that their other sister did not make it. When pulled from animal control at such a young age, it was difficult to tell if they were purebred but we're so thankful they found their way into our rescue program and our hearts. Liu (also a mix) is approximately 6 months old and full of spunk. She adores her sister and spends most of the day playing with her. She is a bit more outgoing than Kitty but also very loveable and loads of fun. Liu has fun barking at the sprinkler and likes to try to drink the water from it. She loves to sleep on her cushions. Like her sister she never has accidents in the house and is doggy door trained. She loves to be cuddled and loved. Watch out though because she likes to chew on your hair. Liu is a well-adjusted, well-behaved, healthy girl. She wouldn't mind a cat and would love to be adopted with her sister or have someone around to play with. She will be happy wherever she is as long as she has toys to play with and a nice cushion to sleep on. Liu is vetted and ready for her forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liu, a Houston Shar Pei puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shar Pei puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
