Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Daisy Mae is a sweet Yellow Lab mix estimated to be 2-3 years old (as of November) who was rescued by our southern partner when her time was up at the local shelter. She was at the shelter with her two puppies, Trey and Bear and was such a good momma to them! They have since been adopted to loving homes.
Many people were interested in helping her pups - but nobody wanted to save Daisy Mae as she is an adult dog and also heartworm positive - a much bigger challenge than rescuing puppies. Daisy Mae has successfully completed Heartworm treatment and is ready for her forever home!
As dog rescuers, we feel it is critical that if you are going to rescue puppies - you must take the whole litter and NEVER leave a mother behind - especially when leaving her behind would mean certain death.
So of course they rescued the whole family! We are glad that they did as Daisy Mae is certainly worth the effort!
Daisy Mae is in a wonderful foster home in the south that she shares peacefully with multiple dogs and children. She is an energetic girl who would enjoy and anctive family.
Daisy Mae will be making her journey to New England toward the end of Septemer or early October. She deserves to live in a safe and cozy home with people who love her. Please visit our web site to find out about our application process for adopting this precious girl. Her adoption fee is $300.
