Opal's Story...
Hi there, I'm Opal! I’m a super-sweet and friendly girl who enjoys going on long walks, playing and cuddling at the end of a long day. I have a really cute underbite so my tongue is always sticking out. I also have one pretty, ice-blue eye! I love to play with kids and other dogs and I would love to play with cats, too, if I was allowed!

The vet says I'm about 6 months old. I'm a little thin for my age, but I've been eating good since I came to my new foster home. I'm either deaf or extremely hard of hearing, but it doesn't slow me down one bit. My foster mom is working on teaching me some basic signs and is also working on getting me house-broken. I am getting used to my crate and will even go in on my own when I'm ready to take a nap! I promise if you take me home, I will give you all of my love forever! Please complete an online application if you are interested in adopting Opal. She is being fostered by Jennifer in Milton, FL.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opal, a Albany Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Albany, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
