My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petals – female, vet checked, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, spayed, heartworm tested (-), dewormed, tx flea preventative, ~5yr, ~15lbs (over weight), Min Pin.

Petals was left at a shelter as a “stray” but we can easily tell by her mid section (or lack there of!) that someone has been spoiling her. She likely ended up at the pound due to a situation beyond control of her owner.

Petals is a sweet girl. She is calm and quiet in the home and enjoys short walks. She loves the dog parks but is better to stay in the “Little Dog Zone” so that a larger dog doesn’t accidentally injure her. Petals is rather over weight for her size and breed, her foster home has her on a diet with a strict feeding amount each day and no extras in combination with a few shorter walks each day. Petals isn’t a huge fan of going for walks, she likes to get out and putter, do her business and come back in if you let her. Her new owner will really need to make sure to take Petals on ideally 3 shorter walks each day (maybe 15-20min) depending on how far she is willing to walk each day. It is very important that her new owner stick to a good diet plan and slowly increase daily activity to help her lose the weight. Indoors Petals is clean, quiet and well behaved. She doesn’t mind car rides but needs a lift up (at least until she looses a few pounds and can do it herself!). Petals could easily join her owner at work or on daily errands, she is friendly and social but will mind her own business as well. She likes kids, other dogs and cats however due to her small size we prefer a home with no kids under 10yrs. Petals is house trained and crate trained, she sleeps in her crate at night and when left alone and should continue to sleep in a crate until settled in to her new home and routine. Petals would be a great pal for a mature or retired person, she likes to take life at the slower pace and has lots of love to give. Petals is suitable for house or apartment living.
