Sierra's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Sierra's Story...
Sierra was at the Humane Society and she was scared. The employees knew she was a sweet little girl but she trembled in her kennel and hid her face. This didnt help "sell" her to potential adopters. People walked by her and looked at all the happy, yappy dogs. Only the employees knew that when you entered Sierra's kennel, she would sidle up for affection, her tail thumping the ground to show her appreciation.

So, instead of moving her to the euthanasia ward, a call for help went out to the rescue groups. We were happy to help.

Sierra bonds deeply with humans. She is extremely smart, learns commands quickly and loves to exercise alongside her foster mamma. Sierra needs reassurance initially, but once she knows she is safe and loved, she becomes as loyal as Old Yeller.
Sierra loves the company of other other dogs, so we encourage adopters with other dogs in the home
Sierra would NOT do well in a home where she is the only dog, or left alone alot with no exercise or playtime, AND SHE CANNOT GO TO A HOME WITH CATS so please take that into consideration before submitting an application on her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sierra, a Scottsdale Australian Kelpie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Australian Kelpie dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie breeders who help with Australian Kelpie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
