GUNTHER's Story...
Gunther is a sweet and loveable approximately 3 year old Brittany, with many unique qualities. First, he is fairly calm, for a Brit. He has the energy level typical of an adult lab – loves to go for walks, but is equally happy to settle down and get his tummy rubbed for hours on end. Second, he has no feathering and his hair is fairly short. Third, when he gets rubbed behind his ears, he makes an adorable little cooing noise, almost like a doggie purr. He is truly a love bug, and is wonderful with other dogs and children alike.

Like most Britt’s, Gunther believes the only place to be while on a walk is at the very end of the leash, and when he gets excited to greet a new friend, he will jump up to ensure he has your full attention. And speaking of jumping, Gunther has the ability to scale a 4 foot fence, so a 5 or 6 foot fenced yard will be important for his forever home to have. He does well in a crate, does not dig (despite the efforts of our Brittany to demonstrate the great joy of flinging dirt) and is just a fabulous, friendly dog! If you are interested in adopting Gunther please fill out our online adoption application at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org!

History:
Gunther was rescued from being euthanized at Animal Control when his time was up. This Southside SPCA stepped in, rescued him and contacted ABR. He is a lucky and special Britt!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GUNTHER, a Odenton Brittany dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Brittany for sale in Odenton, or seeking a Brittany dog from a breeder in Odenton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Odenton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Odenton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Brittany breeders who help with Brittany rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Odenton paves the way for another one to be saved.
