NUGGET's Story...
NUGGET. My name is NUGGET. I am a 17.5 pound, 6.5 month old red heeler/tweenie dachshund mix. I am neutered, but that doesn’t mean I don’t’ like to have fun……camping! I love the outdoors. Take me to REI and I am in heaven. I ride very well in the car and I respond to my name every time. I am not one to brag, but I am soooo smart. I love older kids. I like other dogs, but I am a bit on the aggressive side when it comes to my food. So I would be better off as an only “child”. I'm kid friendly, very sturdy, and just a great puppy.
Nugget is all up to date on the medicals (rabies, bordetella, DHPP, Advantage, neutered) and is looking particularly lovely with recent grooming and pedicure. He comes with a big basketful of all new blankets, toys, dog food, treats, designer leash and collar set food and a free exam card for her next appointment with our Doxie vet at Best Friends Veterinary Medical Center. And wait till you see him in his designer Tee-shirt. Adoption fee $250.
Please go to our site, and if interested, complete the questionnaire and email it to .

Why Adoption is a Great Option

NUGGET, a Portland Dachshund/Lancashire Heeler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Lancashire Heeler for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund/Lancashire Heeler puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Lancashire Heeler breeders who help with Dachshund/Lancashire Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
