Hans's Story...
Hans is a very nice young chocolate boy. He is about 1 year old and very very cute. His coat is a dark, shiny, gorgeous coat and his build is a bit smaller then that of a typical lab, weighing about 50 lbs. Hans is really sweet and friendly, we believe he does okay with cats, but if needed, we can do further cat testing, however, he does great with other dogs and has been socialized with men, women and children. He is crate trained, working on house manners and walks okay on lead. He will benefit from further obedience training, but will make a great family pet for those looking for a four legged member. Hans would be classified as a medium energy boy for a lab of his age, but will need appropraite exercise as he is still a young boy He will pick up on skills quickly and is treat motivated, which makes training a breeze. He loves the humans and loves the attention that he gets from his foster mom. He takes treats nicely, retrieves the ball as he should and will comply with whatever he can to get that good boy pat on the head (and smothered with kisses on the face. Just don't tell anyone. It's embarrassing!). Hans is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is microchipped and kept on heartworm, flea and tick prevetnion. If you would like to adopt this nice young boy, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hans, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
