Hilda's Story...
How could they do it? A rainy dark evening…pickup truck driving down a muddy road 50 miles from nowhere…full moon dancing across the elderly limbs of half dead trees…this is coyote country…and this where they dumped the three of us. Where is our sibling? Ask the coyotes…I ask again… How could they do it? Have they no heart?
Answer #1: Beats the heck out of me, I could never do such a thing…
Answer # 2: Yes, they have none. You may think our story is some B.S. made up to make you feel sorry for us…but hand on my heart, it’s the truth. But this sad tail has a happy ending, I am sure…it just has to. As you can imagine, I am feeling a little scared, a little shy, but still sweet and happy, despite all that I’ve been through. I’m lucky, and thankful that someone like you is going to give us the home I deserve. 7 months old-43lbs-Labrador/Shar Pei/German Shepherd mix. My adoption fee is $240 and includes; microchip, spay, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hilda, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
