Harley's Story...
Meet Harley. A real cutie, isn't he?? He's abt 9-10 months old and weighs abt 45 lbs. Harley needs a fenced yard so that he can be safe when he runs around to play but of course, he prefers to be inside with his family. He is crate trained although he looks at his foster mom as if to say "I'd rather be outside than in that stupid crate"! Harley still has a lot of puppy exuberance and needs some work on manners but he's not aggressive at all. Very, very sweet boy.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Patti at 816-679-3099 or email her at peoguin@ashland.com to find out when and where you can meet HARLEY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harley, a Overland Park Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
