Good Day to you. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Hercules. Yes, that is correct, Hercules, after the ancient God. My foster folks named me this because of my size, strength and gentle nature. I am a very big boy, weighing in at 74 pounds, and am 8 years young. I could stand to lose a good 10 pounds to get back to my fine slim, self and more resemble my name sake in stature. I would also benefit immensely from daily walks around the block. I generally get along well with everyone from human babies to 10 yr old Jack Russels. I do have a bit of trouble with younger male dogs that are always on you to run and play. I just don't find that exciting.
My perfect forever home would be more on the calm side environment, with maybe another dog or two for company when my people leave the house. I love people and in my foster home I have even begun to climb the stairs so I can sleep in their room at night. A dog door would be nice so I can go sun myself and relieve myself as I need to.
Even though I can go up and down the stairs, it would probably be better if my new home was one level. My hips and rear knees are begining to show their age. As of this week, when I went to the Dog Doctor, I have been taking an anti-inflamatory medication with pain reliever in it. This has made me feel like a youngster again. We are not sure if I will need to have this medicine forever or not. Time will tell. So my perfect forever home would need to be willing and able to help me with this too. I have many years left to share my loyalty, life and love with my perfect forever family. When you adopt me you will see that I am quite the Hercules for you and your family.
