Duke #2's Story...
Duke is a 2 year old black male with natural ears. He came to rescue because his Mom was getting ready to have another baby, and his Dad was preparing to leave for a 1 year deployment, and all the changes in the house were too much for his family. Duke is a very sweet boy who is tall and weighs in around 140 pounds. He doesn't know his own size... he loves to scootch his toosh up onto our laps and boy, does he lean! Duke plays well with the pugs in his foster home, but he is best with medium sized or larger dogs who like to play hard. He's done really well with active dogs at the dog park between 30-45 pounds. We would like to see Duke go to a home with another dog as we believe he would be bored in a house without another dog. He ignores the cat in his house, and is great with children. Duke's front legs turn out at about a 45 degree angle, but it doesn't affect him being able to walk, run, or play.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke #2, a Hanover Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Hanover, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Hanover.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hanover already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hanover breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hanover paves the way for another one to be saved.
