My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 10/2/2010: Maggy is an adorable Morkiepoo who is 3 years old and weighs 10 lbs. She is being fostered in Tampa, FL. She asked to borrow her foster mom's computer and had this to say.

"Hi there! It's me Maggy! It's been about a week that I've been at Foster Mom's and I've started to adjust. FM says that at first I was really scared and confused. You see, I was rescued from a high kill shelter in South Florida a day after my 'deadline.' FM heard this news and helped to get me out of there not a moment too soon. She then had me transported the next day all the way up to Tampa. I had been trimmed and patiently bathed by my rescue angel in Miami cause in the shelter I had looooooooooooong hair that looked like dreadlocks and was matted -ouch! Apparently that wasn't very appealing, and I didn't get adopted....... so, UYR took me in, cleaned me up and gave me a second chance. Now I'm the purdiest girl you've ever seen! And, I'm starting to get comfortable with my new look!!

The vet in Tampa confirmed that I'm healthy (and that I'm actually only 10 pounds) and up to date on everything - so I'm ready to go!! That makes me happy cause that means someone out there can take me and give me a FURever home!! Speaking of home, since I've been in FM's I like to play, I like treats, I sleep in my comfy bed a lot, and cuddle as much as possible! I have my moments where I love to "roughhouse" with FM's other furkid, but not for too long. I am getting used to the furkids here and the new schedule and although it's been overwhelming, I'm doing well! When we go, I almost always potty outside but, FM has a wee pad out, just in case, and I've used it occassionally. I'm pretty smart and I'm learning how to sit and stay and I always listen when I hear FM's voice because I'm hoping she'll say the word "treat!" Haha! FM says I really am a great dog and I would do wonderfully in a semi-active home. We aren't sure how I'd do with children, but I think as long as they are either older or not hyper, I'd be good! And, with other furkids? Well, I get a little territorial over my food and sometimes FM's lap so I growl but I've never snapped, I'm just trying to let those other furkids know I'm a little bossy. So, I get it would depend on the crowd I'm around, but I might do best as an only pup! But, let's see if that changes as FM gets to know me better!!

Well, that's about it for now. Do you think I sound like I'd fit in your home?? Do you? If so, please fill out an application for me! I'll love ya furever!! XOXO Maggy

INITIAL BIO 09/25/2010: Maggy is a sweet little 3 year old 10 lb (thin) morkiepoo (Maltese-Yorkie-Poodle) who was saved from sure euthanasia from an area high kill shelter. She is being fostered in Tampa, FL.

Maggy was listed at the shelter as a "white yorkie" but when her Foster Mom arrived, she saw that Maggy has a lot of maltese and poodle in her. She had been shaved to the skin because she was brought to the shelter severely matted and infested with parasites. Her euthanasia date was the day before FM got there, and she knew UYR was her only hope.

Maggy is a loving little girl who loves to shower her FM with kisses and cuddle right up next to her. She is 100% housetrained and uses a wee wee pad and goes outside to potty. She is a little nervous of loud noises and would do well in a household as an only pet or with a laidback doggy companion.

Please stay tuned as we learn more about Miss Maggy. She's UTD on vaccines, is already spayed, has pearly white teeth, and is ready to go!!!
