Trixie's Story...
Trixie has slipped into the world of the "long timers" at Barlee's and we're not sure how. She is a gorgeous little pint-sized young Australian Shepherd x Australian Cattle Dog who has the personality of 300 dogs! Trixie is a real busy girl who needs her mind and body stimulated. She's one of the smartest and most intuitive dogs I've worked with and would excel in a working home, or one that wants to do things (agility, obedience, flyable) with their dog. She is a little firecracker.

Trixie does have some challenges as well - the biggest one being staying busy. She is suspicious of strange men and will sometimes bark at them, but if allowed to warm up at her own pace and offered treats, she gets over it. She can be reactive on walks. Trixie is perfect in her crate and on the word "kennel", will run to it from any floor in the house. She is pushy on intro to dogs but gets along with most. She chases cats in play when bored.

Trixie is a real gem for the right person, and she's gorgeous. She's ready for her home!

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE UPDATE OUR SITE AS OFTEN AS WE CAN. INFORMATION IS POSTED AS IT COMES TO US. IF THIS DOG IS LISTED, IT IS AVAILABLE, THOUGH WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS AND ANY DOG'S STATUS CAN CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie, a Guelph Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd for sale in Guelph, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Guelph.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Guelph already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Guelph breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Guelph paves the way for another one to be saved.
