Oscar is a beautiful 14 year old Blue and Gold Macaw. He has a very charismatic and VOCAL personality, maybe a little shy, but he comes around very quickly. After he gets to know you, he is loving, gentle and affectionate. Oscar loves attention and to be stroked on the head and the back of the neck. Oscar is on a zupreem pelleted diet and also loves fresh fruit . Oscar strongly prefers women and doesn't really like men, but will occasionally let my 14 year old son pet him and pick him up. He steps up readily but is somewhat unsteady. He loves daily walks outside. Oscar should not be allowed to bond to strongly with any one person and will need a strong flock leader as he has the typical Macaw bossiness. He is a fantastic escape artist and is very curious about his surroundings. He loves music and interaction and will sing and dance and be silly. He says "Hello" and "Goodbye" and will even wave when saying "Goodbye". When it is bedtime he says "go bye bye". He is not too fond of other birds close up but will tolerate other birds in the house.
He will make a wonderful life time addition to your family!! He will take a LOT of love and patience and will be with you for many many years as this species of parrot can live upwards of 75 years with proper care and will require a life-time commitment.
