My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruby is a darling little girl that just wants to be with you. She is shy but is gaining confidence daily. She is just 10 lbs and will probably top out around 12 lbs once she is at her ideal weight. She is a young girl and is slowly learning new skills with her foster family and is currently house trained and on her way to learning basic obedience.

Ruby came to us with her brother Max, who is also up for adoption. Both of these little darlings were a mess but they are so people oriented that it didn’t take long for them to come around and they are now healthy and ready to find their new homes. They are both intelligent and very people oriented so they pick things up quickly and easily. They have wiry coats which make them easy to care for and shed very little if at all.

In her foster home Ruby is learning not to be afraid of the young children’s fast movements and is enjoying barking at the cats (trying to make them run so she can chase them). She is a dog that would be totally devoted and loyal to her family and who has a huge heart for anyone that treats her with kindness.

Here is what her foster family had to say about Ruby:

Ruby is a little gem! She is a spunky little dog who would make a perfect companion for the right person. She is house trained and does well with a yard. She enjoys going for a daily walk which is helping to get her out and building her confidence. She is very bonded with her brother but loves and craves attention from her people. I think she will do fine on her own once she is bonded to her new family.

Ruby does bark to announce your arrival or when something scares her so an apartment would probably not be the best for this little lady. Although I don’t do it often because she needs to learn to walk on her own four paws, she loves to be cradled like a baby and to have her belly rubbed. She is great in the car and although she doesn’t like having baths, she does tolerate them. We are currently working on “sit”.

If you are interested in making this little girl part of your family, please go to our website at http://uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
