My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TRIPOD

First off, Tripod has four working, so we aren’t sure exactly how he got his name. He responds to it very well though, so we kept it. In addition to knowing his name and coming when called, Tripod sits, lays down and walks pretty nicely on a leash. He also listens to pretty much anything you say and most of the time, figures out what you are asking.

Tripod is a 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, who was pulled from a shelter in northern Missouri. He is just about the sweetest guy you could find, and doesn’t ask for much more than some attention and a couple meals a day. As you can see from his pictures, his sweet face matches his personality. He gets along great with people and other dogs. His foster mom has three dogs in the house of all ages, and he gets along nicely with all of them. Tripod hasn’t really been kid tested yet, but we haven’t seen anything that would make us think he wouldn’t be okay with kids.

Tripod’s personality leans more to the “mix” side than the “cattle dog” side, as he’s a pretty mellow, happy-go-lucky guy, with just an average energy level. Most of the time, he calmly lays around just watching what you are doing. He’s been neutered, and is up to date on all of his shots. The vet who neutered him said that it seems he may have had an injury to his left hip earlier in life that was surgically mended. He has fine use of that hip now, but has just a slight hint of a limp when he walks. Tripod weighs 48 pounds, and would love to find a forever home!
