Elmo's Story...
MY GOODNESS, could he be any cuter? The "sparkle-y" look of the coloring on his legs, brows and whiskers makes him all the more adorable. Elmo is a 5-6 month old, male, sweet, a little bit shy, puppy. He is a bit hesitant and shy with people for the first few minutes, then a lovely puppy - not a spaz, not a biter, but loving and gently playful. After a moment of unsure behavior when first face-to-face with other dogs [of all sizes], he is playful and loving with them as well - a total love. Elmo just got sprung from the shelter, is now being crate and housetrained, and rapidly learning how to be a perfect little gentleman. He is currently about 15 lbs. [and won't grow much more].

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmo, a Berkeley Schnauzer (Miniature) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) puppy from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
