Jerry's Story...
Jerry is a 2-3 yr old red smooth male dachshund that came into rescue with his friend Tom.
He is a beautiful dark red color and tweenie size. Very muscular. Jerry is considered an alpha dog although he does get along with other dogs, he just wants to be boss. He like to eat first, but when finished will share his food. He is great with people and cats. Housetrained and crate trained, good on a leash. He came into rescue with a chiweenie named Tom, but can be adopted out separately. Prefer dachshund experienced homes since he does have the alpha tendencies, we want to make sure he does not take over the household, although he has not shown any of these tendencies at his foster home. If you are interested in adoption,, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application. If you have questions, email Jerry's foster mom at Adoption fee $200.00 Jerry is located in western N.C. Jerry would not do well in a home with cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jerry, a Lawndale Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lawndale, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lawndale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lawndale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lawndale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lawndale paves the way for another one to be saved.
