Lightning's Story...
Hello, my name is Lightening. I am 3 years old and about 50 pounds (yes, I know I need to loose some weight!). My mom went into a nursing home and no one else wanted me. I have all my vetting up-to-date - I just need to be neutered. I am a very sweet boy and I love the other dogs here at the shelter. I am also already housebroke! Please come and give me a chance! If you are interested in giving me a forever home please contact the Gladwin County Animal Shelter at 989-426-4579. If the office is closed please leave a message and someone will call you back the next business day. Thank you for looking and thinking adoption first!

Act quickly to adopt Lightning. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lightning, a Gladwin Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Gladwin, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Gladwin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gladwin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gladwin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gladwin paves the way for another one to be saved.
