Alex's Story...
Alex came to us from a shelter in KY where his life was in serious jeopardy because they were running out of space. He is a playful, friendly, and energetic Beagle mix. Alex has a great disposition and seems to get along with EVERYONE including other dogs, cats, adults, and kids! Alex is about 1.5 years old. He is current on routine vaccinations, heartworm negative (currently on preventative), neutered, microchipped, and already housetrained. Alex is a fun, lovable dog who really wants a family to call his own.

Alex is not at a shelter where you can come to meet him. All Safe Hounds Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Prospective adopters MUST submit an adoption application prior to meeting our dogs. Please click here to learn more about adopting a Beagle friend and to download our application.

Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer rescue organization. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alex, a Blairstown Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Blairstown, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Blairstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Blairstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Blairstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Blairstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
