Shirley and her best friend Laverne came to us from a rural shelter in WV where their lives were in serious jeopard. The shelter was running out of space and with new dogs arriving daily they would have to euthanize some soon to make more room. This is the sad reality for many adoptable pets in shelters. Shirley is playful, friendly, and energetic. She has a great disposition and seems to get along with
everyone. She enjoys chasing anything that runs, including cats sometimes, but does not try to hurt them. Shirley is about 1 year old and weighs around 18 pounds. She is current on routine vaccinations, heartworm negative (on monthly preventative), spayed, and microchipped. She has been making good progress toward becoming housetrained while in her foster home, but will need continued reinforcement in order to achieve complete success. Shirley is a fun, lovable Beagle girl who really wants a family to call her own.
Shirley is not at a shelter where you can come to meet her. All Safe Hounds Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Prospective adopters MUST submit an adoption application prior to meeting our dogs. Please click here to learn more about adopting a Beagle friend and to download our application.
Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue, Inc is an all-volunteer rescue organization. If you are unable to adopt a Beagle at this time, please consider helping us so that we may continue to help them by making a donation or sponsoring one of our dogs.
