Gertie's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Gertie's Story...
We tried to teach Gertie that her behavior was unacceptable. We talked, we advised, and we downright demanded she stop. But alas, flirty Miss Gertie can't do it. She just can't stop kissing everyone she sees! Strangers on the street, she's bounces over with a stealth wet one. Kids at the playground, she's heads right for them. And we are afraid to even describe how affectionate Gertie gets with people on the couch... it's downright shameful! At just 5 months old we thought we'd be able to break her of this intrusive habit, but it doesn't look like anything is going to stop Gertie. Every person, dog, and cat will fall victim. Consider yourself warned. Gertie is your gal is you want a dog that makes you feel like every day is Valentine's Day!

Gertie dreams of having a home where she can play and feel safe and loved. If you would like to make Gertie’s dream come true, come visit her at the shelter or contact her adoption consultant, Kristin, at 216-798-3154 for more information. Gertie is sure to be a wonderful addition for some lucky family!

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gertie, a Berea Basset Hound/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Dachshund for sale in Berea, or seeking a Basset Hound/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Dachshund breeders who help with Basset Hound/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
