UPDATED BIO 10/24/2010: Maverick is a 4 year old 11 lb Silky boy who is being fostered in Largo, FL.

Today Mavie had a checkup and passed with flying colors! Heart and lungs sound great. His teeth do not need a dental cleaning at this time. He's just a great little bundle of joy and loves everyone. He is not alpha, and he is a little afraid of the 8 lb girl in the home who barked at him yesterday to get off her human's lap! So sweet. Maverick is ready to go! Could he be the buddy you've been waiting for?

INITIAL BIO 10/21/2010: Maverick (Mavie) is an adorable 4 year old 11 lb Silky boy who is being fostered in Largo, FL. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in South Florida.

Maverick is a sweetheart of a boy who seems to get along with other dogs. He appears to be housetrained, and walks well on a leash. He spent his first night in his new home with a nice warm doggy meal, a warm bath, and a cozy little bed - all that this boy has been without for so long. He waited for 5 long days for his owners to find him.... They never came. Their loss is someone else's gain. Mavie will make a wonderful companion!

Please stay tuned as we get to know this sweetheart better. Also, please disregard Maverick's silly haircut. We're not sure where he got it, but like momma always said, hair ALWAYS grows back!
