Our Adoption Process...
All of our applicants are screened to ensure cats are going to loving, caring homes. We also work to make sure the personality of the cat meshes well with the personality of the applicant. All cats are adopted on a first-come-first-adopted basis.

Applications take approximately 4-5 days to process. We require a current veterinary reference and two personal references. If you do not have a veterinarian at this time, we require the name of the veterinary professional that you plan on using for your new pet. We can suggest excellent veterinarians that we work with at Cat Tales.

Our adoption fees help cover the cost of the care and feeding of animals in our care and ensure that more cats can be saved. For any animal not spayed or neutered, a state mandated, refundable fee of $30 applies. This fee will be refunded when proof is furnished that the kitten you adopted has been spayed or neutered.

Adult cat adoption fee: $100.00 — All adult cats have rabies and distemper vaccines, along with FeLV/FIV tests (negative) and are spayed/neutered. Some cats are also declawed.

Adult cat adoption fee for cats older than 7-years old: $70.00 — The "seniors" discount is to encourage people to adopt the older cats with a full life ahead of them. All adult cats have rabies and distemper vaccines, along with FeLV/FIV tests (negative) and are spayed/neutered. Some cats are also declawed.

Kitten adoption fee: $125.00 - All kittens have vaccinations appropriate for their age. They have been tested negative for FeLV/FIV and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tugger, a Warminster Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Warminster, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Warminster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warminster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warminster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warminster paves the way for another one to be saved.
