My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

Tyson is an 13 week old male chihuahua/ dachshund mix who will be 9-10 pounds full grown. He is full of kisses for everyone he meets including dogs, cats, and respectful kids. Tyson is playful and active. Tyson enjoys playing with puppy toys and small-sized tennis balls. Because they are puppies, they need a stay-at-home parent to continue their house training and socialization. A fence yard is preferred. He is with a 501c3 non-profit rescue. His $150 adoption fee covers his shots, worming, heartworm protection and grooming. There is a $100 neuter deposit and contract that requires him to be neutered by 6 months of age.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. THESE CRITERIA ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE FOR ALL APPLICANTS. If you do not meet the criteria for this dog, PLEASE do not apply. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we do not answer those in which the applicant doesn’t match the listed criteria.

• Homeowners: Strongly preferred
• Status of adopter: Adults
• Previous dog owning experience: Strongly preferred
• Age of children: 8 and older
• Another dog in the home: Would be fun but not necessary
• Cat(s) in the home: Okay with cats
• Fenced yard: Preferred but not required
• Time alone on work days: Someone home most of the time
