Tess's Story...
Tess & Coconut are one year old sisters who were rescued as kittens from a reserve in Central Alberta. They enjoy spending their days relaxing on the cat tree, playing with each other and getting lots of love from their foster mom. They can be a little standoffish at first, so please don’t be offended….they just take time to warm up to you. We are hoping to find an adopter with a big enough heart to want both of these delightful girls so that they can stay together. Tess & Coconut are being fostered by one of our wonderful friends at A.A.R.C.S. (Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society). If you are interested in meeting them, please contact R.J. at 403-837-7442.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess, a Okotoks Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Okotoks, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Okotoks.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Okotoks already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Okotoks breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Okotoks paves the way for another one to be saved.
