I am already neutered, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.
I'm Jackson, and I'm quite the distinctive-looking cat. I have the fur of a blue point Himalayan cat with a thin, almost Siamese-looking face and the most crystal blue eyes. Yes, my eyes are a little crossed, but that makes me all the more endearing. I love people, and I'm happy to sit on your lap or just beside you. I very much love to be brushed, and when you brush me, I may show an undignified side . . . the belly-side that likes to be pet and brushed. Oh, don't tell the other cats about that, though! I'm what they refer to as a "special needs" cat because I have some medical issues that are ongoing that require a little extra TLC and care. First, I have a heart condition -- a murmur and a slight arrhythmia that is accentuated when I am nervous or stressed. I also have some early stage kidney disease and kidney stones. We cannot operate, though, because, well, neither one of my kidneys are 100%. So I need to find a home that will make sure I get plenty of wet food (easy on the kidneys) and will monitor me to make sure I'm feeling a-ok. At any sign of potential pain or illness, I need to get to the vet PDQ to make sure that those kidney stones aren't acting up, moving around (and possibly causing a blockage), or some other pesky thing. As long as those stones stay put, I'm comfortable and happy. We're not sure how long my kidneys will agree to keep me going, but I hope it's a good, long time and that I can enjoy every moment I have -- hopefully many months and years to come -- with someone with a big heart and plenty of time to brush me . . .hint, hint. If you want more information about my medical care . . . or if you're interested in potentially bringing me home with you as a long-term foster family member, just contact my friends at Friends.
