Mickey's Story...
Meeting me now, I’m such a snuggle bug. I love to receive pets and cuddle with people. I particularly like when you pet my ears while I sit on your lap. I am such a friendly boy, I am likely to welcome you at the door. As the saying goes, “I’m a lover, not a fighter.” You would never know I was a shy member of a feral cat colony. The feral cat life is not an easy one, and my best cat buddy and I were hungry and abused – in fact, I lost my best friend when he was attacked by people and burned with chemicals. That’s why, at first, I had a hard time warming up to people. Thank goodness for my loving foster family. Now I know that most people are warm, friendly, loving, and oh so good at petting kitties like me. I’d love to find a forever home of my own where I’ll always be safe, secure, and very much loved. Are you the right home for a handsome tuxedo-sporting boy like me?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
