Attie's Story...
Attie, named after the famous character "Atticus Finch" from "To Kill a Mockingbird," is an exotically marked domestic short haired female, with mackerel/tiger markings (black/gray/amber/white), and the most magnificent, vivid, stunningly beautiful green eyes. This sleek, suave, and smooth senior has a laid back approach to life and adores being "loved up" anytime her human companion has an open hand or two. Chin scratches, back strokes, and belly rubs are her absolute favorites! Attie has an easier time resisting a morsel of tuna than affection from anyone with a free hand. Attie likes to be fussed over and coaxed into playing with the "flying feathers," but quickly shows her skills as an exceptional "hunter." Even though she knows at her age (11), that some might expect her to conduct herself in a more refined and dignified manner, she just can't seem to do it. She makes the most of every opportunity she has. So whether it's snuggling in her human's lap, or attacking a catnip mouse with unparalleled finesse, she gives everything her all. Attie is declawed (front paws), spayed, and is up-to-date with her shots. If you can provide this sweet and sassy girl with a loving home, please call the SCHS at 507-451-4512 to set up a time to meet. (CF)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Attie, a Owatonna Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Owatonna, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Owatonna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Owatonna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Owatonna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Owatonna paves the way for another one to be saved.
