Bear's Story...
New arrival, Bear is a 1 year old American Eskimo pulled from a kill shelter. His owner surrendered him as he could not afford to keep him, we were told.

We will post more about him once we come to know him better. For now, we can say he is strong, very friendly and a huge fluffy boy. We were told the owner had two dogs, but only surrendered Bear, as he would pick on the other dog. When he arrived here, he was instantly very submissive to a female blue heeler that was upset he got her nice crib and she had to move out of it. He is always very happy at dinner time and really seems to be enjoying his stay with us while we find him a new home.

All of our pets are altered prior to placement, vet examined, vaccinated, heartworm tested, prescirbed Drontal to ensure they are free of parasites such as hook, whip, round and tapeworms. Our pets are required to be maintained on heartworm and flea preventative throughout their life.

The first step in adopting Bear, or any of our pets, is to request an application via email at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Scio American Eskimo Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Eskimo Dog for sale in Scio, or seeking a American Eskimo Dog dog from a breeder in Scio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Eskimo Dog breeders who help with American Eskimo Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scio paves the way for another one to be saved.
