My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bentley is just a teeny, tiny little dog of about 4 lbs. He is so small that he can squeeze through the little gap between the fence and the gate at his foster home! He's a perfect "pocketbook pooch!" We aren't 100% sure of Bentley's pedigree, but the consensus is Japanese Chin/Long Haired Chihuahua mix. His age is also iffy - his eyes don't have an "old dog" look - but his teeth did. Many had to be removed (still has more than enough for kibbles and treats!). Of course, if he was a puppymill survivor, bad teeth are the norm.

Though a bit shy at first, Bentley warms up quickly and loves to be petted - and adores belly rubs. He isn't fond of going to the vet, but all other visitors and strangers are ok with him. He gets along with both dogs and cats. He likes to run and play with them, but doesn't get excited about playing with toys. Currently there is a very respectful toddler in the home, but, because of his itty bitty size, we feel that children under 10 (or their friends) would pose a danger to him.

Bentley is being fostered in Ft. Dix, NJ and his asking adoption fee is $175.

E-MAIL INQUIRIES WILL BE RESPONDED TO MUCH FASTER THAN TELEPHONE CALLS.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
