My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Radley. I am a 2 ½ year old Great Dane. Don’t let the breed fool you. I was the runt of the litter and barely weigh in at 100 lbs. My mom and dad are recently divorced and my mom can no longer afford to take care of me, my two doggie sisters and my human sister by herself. My dad was supposed to take care of me, but he was deployed with the military. I am a huge lap dog and am content to sleep all day at your feet. I am potty trained, and crate trained, and won’t bark while you are away. Although I was raised with 2 other dogs a family with no pets would probably be best to start off with. I was attacked unprovoked by another dog a year ago and required hospitalization so I am leery of other dogs at first approach. My mom has done well with socializing me in small groups to rebuild my confidence. I do however have a few things that worry me, so I will need someone with the patience to help me work through my fears. My family is heartbroken that they are having to find me another home, but neither my mom or sister are big enough to control me if I get spooked on a walk, and our new home isn’t big enough for me to run around in. Now that my mom is working full time she isn’t home enough to give me the attention that I need. I would like a family that is home to play with me and a yard to run around in would be great. I am a sweet gentle girl and love to give kisses and play with my porcupine toy. I come when called and if you tell me to “go to my house” I will go into my crate and wait for a chicken treat. I am just waiting for a new family that will be the perfect fit for me. My mom isn’t willing to give me up unless she finds the perfect forever home for me.
