My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dolly is a five year old spayed female Border Collie, Mahogany red and white. She was adopted, by her current owner, from an elderly woman who lives in an assisted living facility. She had owned Dolly from the time she was a puppy, and they lived on a farm. When she moved into town two years ago, Dolly's life changed drastically. She did not get the exercise she needed to maintain a healthy weight, and as a result, became obese.

When her current owner took her in around the first of March, it was with the intent to get the weight off of her, and rehome her, as she has three dogs already. Dolly has proven to be gentle and loyal, and is especially fond of older people. She wants to herd the other dogs in the home, so the best situation for her would be as an only dog. Dolly has been around cats, and she does okay with them. Dolly has been groomed several times, and her grooming table manners are very good. She loves the attention while being brushed!

Dolly is currently eating Iams Healthy Naturals Chicken diet, and she is fed a carefully measured amount, twice a day. Because her former owner overfed her for most of her life, she has a tendancy to be heavy. Since Dolly has been in her current home, she has lost 25 pounds! She needs to lose about 12-15 more. Her new owner must be diligent, and care for her carefully where food is concerned.

Dolly loves to go for car rides, she is a very easy dog to have around. She has the run of the house, and is a very good girl! Dolly needs love and walks and a careful diet, and in return she will love you forever!
