Roxanne is an unusual and beautiful Basenji-Boxer mix. (Her shelter paperwork says "Akita mix", but we are finding it hard to see the Akita in her). She is about 2 years old, and is all white except for her face, which is "masked" with black and brown. Roxanne was found as a stray in Staten Island and taken in by a gentleman who desperately wanted to keep her, but because he already had a houseful of pets, Roxanne was surrendered to the shelter.
Roxy is fine with other dogs and is OK with cats as well, although she paws at them to try and get them to play with her. She is very playful and would love another friendly dog for a companion. She would be fine in a family with kids (she loves them). She enjoys playing ball, cuddling on the couch, and giving kisses. At the present time she weighs about 45 pounds, but this poor girl is way too skinny (you can see her ribs sticking out) and definitely needs to gain some weight (about 10-15 pounds).
Roxy will be spayed prior to adoption. She is up to date on all her shots, crate trained, and housebroken. She is excellent on the leash and knows how to "sit". Her foster family leaves her free in the house during part of the day and she is perfectly behaved. She is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met, and we have met quite a few!
