Tonka's Story...
Tonka is a 4-5 month old male mixed breed puppy. Tonka was found as a stray at a local park. We noticed he didn't like to go for walks, and seemed to prefer lying down. A trip to the vet revealed that he has hip dysplasia in both hips, and will need surgery to live a pain-free life. He's already 40 lbs and will grow to be a large adult dog. We have started a "Tonka Fund" to defray the cost of his surgery. Please send a contribution to the Milton Animal League, 181 Governor Stoughton Lane, Milton, MA 02186
UPDATE: Thanks to the generosity of the community, we can now pay for Tonka's surgery! We have decided to maintain the Tonka Fund as a permanent fund for extraordinary veterinary costs, so that we can help other needy animals in the future, and we will continue to accept donations for that purpose. Thanks again!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tonka, a Milton Retriever (Unknown Type)/Husky puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Husky for sale in Milton, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Husky puppy from a breeder in Milton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Milton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Milton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Husky breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Milton paves the way for another one to be saved.
