Halley's Story...
The Berry Best!

Hi - I'm Halley. I'm a tri-colored 1 1/2 year old spayed female beagle brand new to rescue (from a Virginia kill shelter). I live for belly rubs and like to play with the dogs at my foster home. I'm crate trained and am brushing up on my housetraining. I'm almost there and my foster mom is so proud of me! I get along really well with my dog-friends and although I am a little shy at first I don't take long to warm up to new people! I'd be happiest in a home that has a nice yard with a fence for me to play in and a brother or sister would be super, too. I'm up to date on shots and I have a micro chip as well. If you would be interested in bringing me to your home forever please ask about me - I'm waiting patiently for that special family to call my own.

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting this wonderful little girl, please complete an adoption application by visiting our web site, clicking the "adoption" tab, reading the guidelines, and submitting an application.

Our pets require an application and adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Halley, a Portland Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
