My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Franklin is an adorable, whimsical little guy who was found on the streets of Pasadena. He was taken to the pound filthy, emaciated and filled with mats. Although someone loved him once and taught him lots of tricks, no one ever came for him. He was so depressed he would lie in the back of the cage, rarely looking up to make eye contact. His eyes were so cloudy, you could not tell what color they were. In an attempt to heal them, his poor eyes were actually stitched shut by the vet for several days and treated with ointment. No one wanted this brave boy who had been through so much. On his last day of life, he was rescued and taken off the kill list.

From the moment he left the pound, he knew his luck had changed. Incredibly, he got a swing in his step the first time he stepped outside and was walked on a leash. He LOVES to go for walks. When he spied two foster brothers, he practically danced with joy.

Although he was initially withdrawn, he is becoming more curious and friendly every day. He dances for joy when you walk in the door, and loves to sit on your lap and give kisses. He is a very smart boy. You tell him something once, and he remembers. He has great manners and is perfectly potty-trained. He mastered the dog door in a single day. His eyes are now bright and full of sparkle, and you can see that they are a lovely brown. That being said, he has chronic issues with his eyes and will require lifetime drops and careful monitoring. He sits very patiently while his drops are applied twice daily. He will need a family who would be willing to give him the extra time this requires and take him in for monitoring of his eye pressures a few times a year. The love he will give you in return will overwhelm you. He is filled with gratitude and happiness.
