Sherwood is a fabulous dog with a simply wonderful temperament. He is mild mannered, obedient (we still recommend a basic obedience class--as we do with any dog), happy and eager to please. He great with other dogs--he's not so interested in playing with them, but he gets along great with everybody. His favorite thing in the world right now are his walks. He dances and prances around when his foster mom reaches for the leash. He just wants to go go go. Sherwood is what we think to be a cream colored Poodle/Cocker/Lhasa mix. He is about four years old and weighs a tall slender 31 pounds now. He came to us straight from the city shelter completely emaciated, weighing only 21 pounds and extremely sick. He was matted and dirty and no one was sure if he was going to make it. But with a little veterinary attention and lots of love, caring and gentle nurturing he recovered quickly and has been ready to find his forever home for a while now.
Sherwood is listed as "special needs" because he has mild hip dysplasia. With his now daily walks and regaining much needed muscle back from being so sick when he came to us, he is doing remarkable. He has so much love to give and he is such a gentle soul. He couldn't help but bring joy to anyone he meets. It's partly due to his carefree, ever trusting personality.
All of our dogs can be seen by appointment with an approved application, so please e-mail us for one at info@palrescue.org.
