My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 1/2/2011: Lulu is a gorgeous Chorkie (chihuahua/yorkie) girl who is now down to 5.1 lbs and is 3.5 years old. She is being fostered in Miami, FL.

The vet thinks Lulu is making such great progress with her dry eye and her allergies. Her hair is beginning to regrow around her eyes. She's slimming down as well and has so much fun playing with the other furkids. She is a doll. She would do well in a home where someone is home a lot, not because Lulu cannot be left, but because she just thrives on human attention and affection. Once you are her owner, you are her life and she is devoted to you. She is 110% housetrained and a pure joy to take care of. Oh yeah, no kids please. She's friendly, but with her size, it's better to be safe. Anyone who meets this girl will fall in love!

UPDATED BIO 12/20/2010: Lulu is a cute little chorkie (half chihuahua/half yorkie) who is 3.5 years old, 5.8 lbs (but should be closer to 5 lbs) and is being fostered in Miami, FL.

OK. Lulu's foster mom here. Let me be frank. I love this dog. I love her. Lulu is one of the most adorable dogs I have ever known. She is sweet and friendly to other dogs (unless we're out walking on a leash. She thinks she's a much larger dog. lol). She loves her humans fiercely. Her ideal home would be one in which the owner was home a lot of the time. She is 100% housetrained. Sure, she's got a chronic medical issue. She has dry eye, but all that means is twice a day she gets eyedrops. They do cost between $30-$40 a month, but she is well worth it. Lulu also has some food allergies and has to be on prescription food. At her weight, she doesn't eat that much; so, that expense is not very significant.

Lulu's most adorable quality is that she smiles when she's excited. It's hysterical! She is just a love and a joy to be around. Anyone who adopts her is going to be the luckiest family around.... and her foster mom will miss her!

INITIAL BIO 11/23/2010: My name is Lulu. I am a pretty pretty
Princess, and I am being fostered in Miami, FL. I am only 3.5 years
old and weigh a chubby almost 6 lbs.

I had a mommy before coming to United Yorkie Rescue. The problem is
she couldn't keep up with my skin problems; so, even though she was
really really sad, she contacted my Foster Mommy. She knew that UYR
would be able to help me get back to the beautiful healthy girl I once
was..... Now, don't get me wrong. I am still ADORABLE! I mean, just
look at me! You can see that despite my hair loss around my eyes, that
I am a cutie patootie!

OK, about that. I went to the Dogtor today. She took blood and gave me
my vaccines. She tested my skin and looked in every place she could!
She told Foster mommy that I have yeasty skin, yeasty ear infections,
and dry eye. While the hair loss around the eyes does not appear to be
mange (the skin scraping was negative), she thinks it could be food
allergies. We're waiting for my tests to know for sure. While we'll be
able to switch my diet (I'm on a limited diet right now with NO table
scraps or treats at all!), I may always have dry eye and require eye
drops twice a day for the rest of my life. Those medicines cost around
$30 a month. I just want to be up front with you, OK? :) Those
medicines will help me make tears so my eyes won't be so crusty and
dry (and most of all they won't hurt me!).

Well, Foster Mommy i just getting to know me, but she says she's
already in love. I'm not quite ready for my new family yet, but keep
me in mind for when I once again look like my "before" picture (it was
taken a couple of years ago). Licks and wags, Lulu. xoxo
