My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet yet shy, Serenity was born around May 2009 and is looking for her special, forever home. She showed up in the yard of an ARCF volunteer and was rescued into foster care. After living on the street, apparently abandoned, Serenity has already had a few disappointments in her life but is learning to trust and love people, and is even starting to seek out attention and affection. Serenity currently lives in her own only-cat space, but we think that she may like having a cat buddy once she has built up a little more self-esteem and confidence. Her ideal cat friend will be gentle and laidback. Serenity has met dogs and doesn’t mind them, but would isn’t interested in doggy playtime.

Serenity loves her comfy bed, but is happy now to cuddle beside her foster people in a chair or on a lap for some good TV or book time. She has a great big purr when she gets the pets she loves, and is learning to ask for affection more and more each day. Serenity's perfect home would provide her with patience, love, and her namesake – serenity – as she builds her confidence and builds her trust in people.

Serenity’s beautiful medium-length fur is mostly black but with a white neckerchief, belly, and feet. She is not a picky eater but loves her wet food the best. She also has perfect litterbox habits.

Serenity, like all ARCF cats for adoption, has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on vaccines, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Serenity, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.

Animal Rescue & Care Fund, Inc. is a small rescue organization. We rescue homeless animals only, and do not accept owner-surrendered pets. All our animals live with volunteers in their homes until they are matched with the right permanent family. Thank you for considering one of our pets for adoption.
